AN INTRODUCTION TO THE QUANTUM ECONOMY

A NEW NARRATIVE

ABOUT

The quantum economy is a description of how the economy works, not how it should work. For decades, we perfected the art of being right. We followed without contradiction, an idea of the absolute, a binary way of thinking, 0 and 1, which suggest a certain solution and is thus designed for finiteness. As in quantum physics, however, the economy is about probabilities, possibilities, and progress in light of an infinite view. Infinity means not winning or losing but playing along for as long as possible.

Quantum technology is destined to be the most profoundly transformative technology that humans have ever uncovered. It will transform our way of life, both socially and economically, in ways that we can‘t yet fully grasp. Unprecedentedly dynamic, it’s poised to address problems spanning all present industries, making the impossible possible.

The past fifty years have demonstrated that “crises,” countless calls to action, and eco-hysteria, do not lead to sufficient change. With the outbreak of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the underlying flaws in the systems have been further revealed. By shaping the quantum economy, humanity will be able to tackle the ecological and societal challenges of our time.

The narrative of the Quantum Economy moves beyond the abstract “good,” transcending vague certitudes and terminologies regarding sustainability and the environment, social issues, governance, and green investments. The quantum economy is in line with capitalism, technology, and yes, hard work. It doesn’t call for less technology but more. Not less economy but more. Not less growth but more—and always based on our humanity.

Human activation is at the heart of the quantum economy. It combines the potential of technological progress and the development of human capabilities through education:

  • Analytical skills – It’s not about what you think but how
  • Voice – It’s not about what to say but how to present, inspire, and articulate.
  • Self-confidence and work ethic – It’s not what to do but how to take ownership of outcomes and responsibility for decisions
  • Collaboration and co-creation – What’s crucial is developing an understanding of teamwork’s potential

These four pillars form the basis of the quantum economy’s activating power. This is related to the work of co-initiator and Norwegian Philosopher, Anders Indset who describes this as a practical philosophy—learning how to learn and teaching how to teach.
